Grey's Anatomy

If you are looking for a series that holds your attention to the point of burning the pots, “Grey’s Anatomy” for sure is the right choice. You get so involved with the story and characters that if you could, you would enter the series.

“Grey’s Anatomy” is an American medical TV series, which according to Wikipedia, “focuses on the fictional lives of surgical interns and residents as they gradually evolve into experienced doctors while trying to maintain personal lives.”

 Meredith Grey is the series’ protagonist, and her mom used to be a famous doctor until she had Alzheimer. In the first episode (called pilot), we are introduced to the setting of the series, the Seattle Grace Hospital, and to the other characters. Just like Meredith, there are other interns in the series, and the whole story revolves around their professional and personal lives, including their relationships.

It is sensational how Shonda Rhimes, the creator of the series, was able to make a series with humor, tense moments, and problems that anyone can face. There are many characters and certainly, you will identify yourself with some of them. Cristina Yang is the funniest character; she considers herself hardcore and the God of cardio. Izzie Stevans used to be a model in order to pay for medical school, and she´s like “the girl-next-door”, but very friendly and kind. George O’Malley is a little bit muddled. Karev is a not-so-likable person. To complete the time, there is Dr. Shepherd, the man with whom Meredith had a one-night stand on her first day at the hospital, and who she later discovered was her boss. There are many other characters to make the series even better, and if you want to meet them, you will have to watch it.

“Grey’s Anatomy” is not just a series with a few love stories that most of you are used to watching. You can learn different vocabulary and improve your English. You learn how to deal with some important problems that are not so far away from us. “Grey’s Anatomy” is a great series that teaches us to be more human.
